Speakeasy Kitchen Bar on Urbanspoon

Had a lovely Sunday morning brunch with my girls. We went to Prahran with the initial plans of visiting Market Lane Coffee but later on found our way at Speakeasy. Speakeasy was a pleasant surprise. The entrance of the cafe looks ordinary/mundane but there is a really nice courtyard inside of the cafe and its lovely. Its winter in Melbourne here right now, but Sunday’s weather was perfect for brunch.

Fell in love with the small little courtyard at the back of the cafe. It is especially cosy on a sunny day with a nice sky view. Saw some fairy lights hanging above the courtyard and I figured that its probably a great place to chill out at night as well.

Sarah and I had a skinny latte.

Nicolea had the veggie breakfast – smashed avocado, capers, tomato and feta on toast with egg. Sarah and I had the Eggs Benedict with smoked salmon, English muffin, spinach and hollandaise. Though I am never a big fan of avocado, I actually preferred Nicolea’s veggie breakfast as compared to my eggs benedicts. The sauce for the eggs benedicts was a little too sour for my liking. On the contrary, the veggie breakfast was a nice compliment of the different flavours – definitely worth trying!

Brunching at speakeasy was enjoyable and I’m definitely coming back. Being away from home can get a little tough sometimes, but its days like these that I’m really thankful for – a lovely city with great company.
